Decay timers, Voting, Settings & New Banners

Hello survivors,

we made a lot of improvements and changes again.

Changes:

  • Dinos that have just been tamed have a 180 minutes cooldown now, before you can transfer them into a Dino Soul.
  • Dinos that were tied to the S + Hitcher at the time of the transformation into a Dino Soul will now lose their buff when released.
  • The S + Tek Generator is now available for 75 Ghost Coins as a Voting Reward.
  • All server banners on ark-servers.net have been updated.

Important:

On Wednesday 08.08.2018 we will reset the decay timers to their regular value. Players who are inactive beyond this time must create a ticket to avoid losing dinos and structures.

    • As a new player on the cluster I first just want to say that this must be the friendliest and most organized community I've seen in ark so far. I'm really enjoying myself here. Thank you!

Then I would like to share my thoughts on the soul trappers 180 min cooldown on tamed dinos. I definitely understand why something like that would be implemented. When you first introduced the mod I first thought it might be a bit too op. But after using it for one day without a cooldown I can not understand why there should be one. There are so many positive things that come out of not having one:

Taming becomes more fun. You can now use the whole map to look for that lvl 150 rex and it does not affect the thrill of the "hunt". I have many times refrain from taming a high lvl dino just because I know how long time it would take to get back to base. Some parts of the map I never go to just because of that reason.

That takes me to base building. When I start on a new server I place my base down low and near good tames. Unfortunately 80% of players have the same thought so usually there are loads of bases in some areas and none in others. Aberration where I play at the moment is a good example of this. There are so many cool spots up high with resources but yet everyone is down low just because it's a hassle to bring your tames up the ramps. This of course make some areas laggy and people get annoyed when there are bases and tames within render distance.

So my point is that the soul trappers 180 min cooldown on tames only effect the trip from the place you are taming to your base, but takes away all the positive things that comes without it. The rest of the mod is the same as I understand it. If I haven't missed something of course.

Well I just wanted to share my thoughts. Keep up the good work! It is appreciated!

    • If you upload a dino you just tamed using a transmitter, does the dino soul cooldown stop until it is again removed or continues in the cloud?

    • we are still working on a bugfix for the wrong shown mating cooldown inside souls (just a visual bug, but still annoying)

      • Dinos that were tied to the S + Hitcher at the time of the transformation into a Dino Soul will now lose their buff when released.

      - Which buff they will loose after the released?

      - Trapping soul just after tame was awesome and i knew you will disable it :D

      • They lose the buff that keeps the connection between Hitching Post and Dino (the stupid strange looking line). We had a bunch of cases where the line went all thru the map. This does not affect any other bufs. Basically the connection between Hitching Post and Dino will be removed automatically now.

      • Aha, that also called a buff.

Sorry english is not my primary language :D

I thought there is a buff which is increasing hp etc. :D
